What began with one closed Masjid near Chintamani, Karnataka, has grown into a movement that has helped reopen and support 176 Masjids, Alhamdulillah.
How It Started: We received a WhatsApp message about a Masjid near Chintamani, Karnataka, that had been closed due to lack of maintenance and the inability to pay the Imam’s salary. Our team visited the Masjid, conducted a survey, and met with the local community. With the support of local people, we were able to reopen the Masjid — and this became the beginning of our Masjid Development Project (MDP).
From One Masjid to 176: What started with a single Masjid gradually became a wider mission. Since then, our team has successfully helped reopen and support 176 Masjids, Alhamdulillah.
The MDP Model — Community + Support + Sustainability: Our goal is not simply to reopen a Masjid. We want to help communities take responsibility for their Masjid so that it can remain active and sustainable for years to come. 1 Masjid → 176 Masjids → a growing movement to revive and strengthen local Masjids.
Key Achievements
- Motivate and involve the local community in maintaining the Masjid and establishing regular Salah.
- Encourage local people to contribute according to their capacity, even through small, regular contributions.
- Provide financial support from our NGO where necessary.
- Meet donors and raise funds to help cover Imam salaries and essential Masjid expenses.
- Assist eligible Masjids with Karnataka Waqf Board registration and related support.
Future Goals
- Help communities take lasting responsibility so each Masjid remains active and sustainable for years to come.
- Continue growing the movement to revive and strengthen local Masjids beyond the 176 already supported.
- Expand donor partnership to cover Imam salaries and essential Masjid expenses wherever communities need support.
